There is little doubt that English is the predominant language of today’s global economy. However, China’s growing economic power means that Mandarin Chinese has become a language of major significance, as well. Similarly, Korea’s remarkable economic development has also caught the attention of the world, making proficiency in Korean a matter of strategic importance for those wishing to participate in and benefit from the global economy.

College graduates who are proficient in the languages of the global economy will have unique advantages in business, education and commerce. It is for this reason that CCN has created the Pontus Institute University Program.

In the Pontus Program, students attend a Chinese or Korean university for up to two years. They then spend two to three years at a cooperating university in the United States. Upon graduating, students obtain a Bachelor’s degree from the Pontus-Partnered American university that they attend. They also graduate with facility in both English and Chinese or Korean. Students also gain valuable insight into the cultures and customs of the Asian country of their choice and the United States.
